Application Support Analyst

Description

• Promote the mission vision and values of the organization.
• Provide support to circulating RNs and other clinicians during implementation of and upgrades to the perioperative information system and tools.
• Educate and mentor perioperative personnel and other clinicians in the perioperative environment about the implementation plan functionality and resolution of issues related to the perioperative information system and tools.
• Identify documentation barriers that prevent full integration of safe patient-centered care and quality patient outcomes in the perioperative setting.
• Troubleshoot problems and answer questions from perioperative RNs and other clinicians related to the perioperative information system and tools.
• Resolve problems issues or concerns related to the perioperative information system or tools.
• Escalate and communicate to the appropriate individuals the identification of problems issues or concerns when unable to resolve information technology issues.
• Assist with documentation and information needs of the circulating RNs and other clinicians.
• Assist perioperative RNs with clinical data requirements and documentation for perioperative patients as they relate to organizational policies procedures business operations national quality and safety initiatives and regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Act as a liaison between perioperative nurses and the informatics department and members of internal and external information technology teams.
• Disseminate information from internal and external information technology teams about issues with the perioperative information technology system or tools (eg medication barcodes not functioning properly).
• Verify alignment of order sets with perioperative clinical documentation.
• Perform documentation peer reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of perioperative patient care documentation (eg clinical documentation charging charge reconciliation billing etc)
• Assist with preparation and implementation of down-time processes for the perioperative information technology system and tools.
• Promote technology as a benefit to performing tasks within the perioperative environment.
• Attend internal and external perioperative information technology documentation system and tools training (Cerner Surginet Multiview) as applicable.

• Bachelors Degree in a health science or business field or an equivalent level of professional experience required.
• Three years progressively responsible experience in information applications including one yearapplications analysis or equivalent.
• Experience in the implementation of a system as a subject matter expert.
• Demonstrates competence in analysis and problems solving principles with emphasis in user relations data gathering techniques and management information applications is required.
• Demonstrates ability to develop technical specifications foraspects of applications.

• Strong computer proficiency in (Cerner Multiview) system and Microsoft

• Ability to translate business and patient requirements into complex computer applications.
• Strong analytical organizational communication and planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written skills including communication skills that promote interpersonal relations customer service and teamwork.

• Experience working in a healthcare environment

• Long periods of sitting with some standing walking bending stooping and reaching
• Lifting up to 20 pounds
• Corrected vision and hearing to within normal range and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop telephone and other office equipment
• Potential exposure to blood and body fluids communicable diseases

• Remote work with onsite availability < 25%
