Lead the Academic Listening to Speak component of the Express Pathway Integration Course (EPIC) supporting international students from China in their transition to undergraduate studies at the University of Ottawa. This course focuses on developing students ability to understand academic lectures take effective notes and communicate ideas orally in both formal and informal academic contexts. The instructor will guide students in building active listening strategies oral fluency presentation skills and critical response techniques. Instruction includes practice in identifying main ideas organizing oral responses participating in discussions and using academic vocabulary accurately. The instructor is also responsible for preparing and assessing spoken assignments integrating digital learning tools and supervising a teaching assistant. Instruction is aligned with the overall goals of EPIC to ensure students develop the confidence and communication skills required for successful undergraduate participation.Posting limited to:

Masters degree in second language teaching TESL or related discipline. Two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level. Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course. Experience with team-teaching. TESL Certification or equivalent.

This course is offered exclusively on the University of Ottawa campus and requires in-person instruction.
