We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our credit lending agribusiness-focused institution. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the financial records and reporting processes that support our agricultural lending and investment activities. This position involves preparing financial statements ensuring regulatory compliance overseeing account reconciliations and contributing to budgeting and forecasting efforts.
The accountant will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the integrity of financial data analyze transactions specific to agribusiness clients and support risk management practices.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries general ledger maintenance reconciliations and financial reporting
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends variances and opportunities for improvement in agribusiness loan portfolios.
- Prepare budget forecast and performance monitoring for the business.
- Ensure compliance with regulations tax laws and internal policies and guidelines.
- Liaise with auditors regulators and internal stakeholders to support audit and financial reviews.
- Support credit risk assessment and loan portfolio analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience preferably within the financial services Asset management or Lending institutions.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and international standards.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUP etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
