What can you expect
Join a growing team of 90 people in the Halifax office which is divided geographically in terms of coverage. This position will be supporting U.S based clients.
You will be responsible for accounting regulatory compliance and administrative functions for a portfolio of captive insurance companies and other clients.

We will count on you to:
- Prepare financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
- Reconcile cash and investment accounts.
- Prepare bank deposits and cash disbursements.
- Plan and complete the annual audit for clients.
- Prepare regulatory filings.
- Ensure on-going compliance withregulations.
- Maintain client files in accordance with regulations
- Maintain and develop client relationships including identifying and resolving issues and consult on best practices
- Monitor and document team and client activities to prevent and detect problems.
- Prepare memos and other correspondence.
- Correspond with other service providers.
- Prepare meeting materials and participate in the annual board of directors meeting and other client meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
What you need to have:
- CPA Designation or CPA enrolment is an asset OR 2 years of accounting experience - preparation of financial statements preparation of working paper file GL
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting

- CPA or equivalent designation is a definite asset or enrolled into the CPA program
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced team-oriented environment and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills confidence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with external clients.
- Proficiency with MS Excel Word and Outlook is required.
