Your Opportunity:
The Financial Accountant is responsible for providing effective and accurate financial support to the business by maintaining operational expenses balance sheet reconciliations and the associated accounting functions.
- Preparation of general journals and accruals with associated supporting documentation
- Preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations and related follow up
- Investigation into reconciling items and analysis of general ledger balances
- Review of weekly Payment runs
- Preparation of GST/VAT returns and management of related queries
- Assisting with Audit and other Statutory related queries
- Ad-hoc financial investigation and analysis as required
- Adherence to month end and other regulatory timelines
We are looking for the below skillset and experience:
- Bachelor of Commerce/Business or other related discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment
- CA/CPA qualified
- Thorough reconciliation experience and strong technical accounting skills
- Understanding of Accounting Standards regulations and guidelines as they apply to the role
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to analyse financial information
- Experience in the use of finance systems (Oracle would be advantageous)
- Retail accounting experience desirable
