Job Description

Join us as a Finance Assistant and make an invaluable contribution to our Food Safety & Biosecurity!

As an Accounts Payable Finance Assistant you will report to the Finance Manager within the team and will be responsible for delivering an accurate and efficient accounts payable function for Fera. You will be responsible for processing purchase invoices and payments accurately and timely.

We can consider Part Time (min 20 hrs) or Full time (37.5hrs) for this role.

What youll be doing:

  • Ensuring all processes and controls are documented and followed and that sufficient controls are operated to ensure integrity of data and safeguarding of company assets.
  • Maintaining the AP ledger at supplier level.
  • Allocation of payments on a daily basis.
  • Dealing with Purchase Order queries.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements and liaising with suppliers as required.
  • Liaising with Operational Managers to ensure payments align to business requirements.
  • Ensure payments are processed in line with cashflow forecasting requirements.
  • Supporting the overall finance function with finance admin tasks as required.
  • Provision of regular and ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Support the audit process as necessary.

What were looking for:

  • Ideally you will have experience in Accounts Payable or a similar role.
  • You have experience of working within a finance function.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a high volume of transactions.
  • Strong team working skills with the ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build sound working relationships.
  • Highly organised and demonstratable use of standard IT packages such as Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems preferred but not necessary.
