Summary:

The Child Life Specialist will work on our Inpatient unit and is responsible for providing essential life experiences family support and education to patients and families in the health care system. The child life specialist collaborates with other health care providers as well as the community to promote growth and development and facilitate positive adjustment for patients and families throughout the health care experience. As a child life staff member the child life specialist demonstrates a commitment to the values of Cook Childrens Health Care System integrating them into each job function: Safety Integrity Caring Collaboration Giving Innovation.

$5000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants

Required Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors (or) Masters Degree in Child Life Child Development or a closely related field.

  • Requires completion of a child life internship.

  • Certified Child Life Specialist (or eligible) within one year of hire.

  • American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS required within 60 days of hire.
