Communications Officer Digital Programmes (ARTCF160)

Contract: Fixed term for 18 months working 35 hours per week (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)

Salary: 32163 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme generous annual leave and flexible and hybrid working.

Location: Manchester or Leeds with potential travel to other Arts Council England offices (The role will be based in Manchester or Leeds; however we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team normally 1-2 days a week)

Introduction: This is a great opportunity to work across two dynamic teams within the New Technologies and Innovation department of Arts Council England. This new role will sit within the Digital Accelerator Programme a national programme managed by the Arts Council but funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies which supports organisations across the country to invest in their digital infrastructure with a programme of advice support and financial support. The role will also provide comms support to the Digital Culture Network which works across the country with a team of technical experts who provide practical on-the-ground help to the creative and culture sector. Their focus is around digital skills data literacy and leadership development

Role Details: You will be responsible for delivery of communication activity related to the Digital Accelerator Programme and the Digital Cultural Network.

In a typical week you will:

  • Attend weekly team meetings for both Digital Accelerator Programme and Digital Culture Network to ensure a good all-round understanding of the programmes.
  • Develop case studies and good news stories for distribution on the Digital Accelerator Programme website and newsletter in the media and to share with Bloomberg Philanthropies.
  • Respond to opportunities to share the learning from the Digital Accelerator Programme projects being supported and from the associated online Learning Programme.
  • Manage and deliver the Digital Culture Network social media presence including content creation posting reviewing performance and maintaining the social media strategy.
  • Support on communications for Digital Culture Network special projects which could include events webinars press activity or the Digital Culture Awards.

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative team-player to help us continue to grow the profiles of these two exciting programmes. To succeed in this role you will be creative and inquisitive with a passion for creating engaging stories and using a variety of web and social media tools. The role will include some travel across England to support event delivery and to participate in team meetings and away days on occasion this may include overnight stays.
