Job Description
Construction Manager
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Construction Manager to oversee the planning execution and completion of telecommunication infrastructure projects. This role will be responsible for managing all phases of construction including budgeting scheduling and ensuring that all projects comply with safety regulatory and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of telecommunications infrastructure including fiber optics and other network installations along with strong leadership and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of telecommunications construction projects from inception to completion ensuring they are completed on time within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Supervise mentor and coordinate a team of engineers construction crews subcontractors and vendors. Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and project timelines.
- Develop detailed project schedules including milestones and deadlines. Coordinate resources labor and equipment to meet project goals and timelines.
- Monitor and control project costs including labor materials and equipment. Identify and mitigate cost overruns and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Ensure adherence to all local state and federal safety regulations. Enforce safety guidelines and conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure all projects meet industry standards and client expectations.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients engineers architects and other stakeholders. Provide regular project updates and address any concerns or changes to scope.
- Identify and resolve potential issues or delays in construction schedules including weather-related delays equipment failures or manpower shortages. Proactively address challenges to maintain project momentum.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local zoning laws building codes environmental regulations and other relevant telecommunications industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress budgets change orders and other project-related documentation. Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Travel to our markets in Akron.
- If you are assigned a company vehicle you will be responsible for stocking cleaning and reporting maintenance needs to the Fleet Manager.
Qualifications:
- Telecommunications construction management experience.
- Experience with aerial and underground telecommunications construction
- Available for emergency call-ins overnight maintenance windows and able to travel.
- Solid understanding of telecommunications infrastructure including fiber optics wireless and broadband networks.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team to success
- Strong knowledge of construction processes techniques and best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Thorough understanding of building codes regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to safely and effectively operate various types of construction equipment and tools.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
- This role will require traveling. You will receive hotel accommodations and per diem for every night you spend the night.
- Class A CDL is preferred but not required.
