Raytheon is currently seeking aSenior Field Engineer Field Engineering with strong Network and electronics skills to perform network removal installation integration test and validation activities. You will support the Total Ship Computer Environment infra (TSCEi) teamsupportingthe Zumwalt Total Ship Activation program. You will provide electronics expertise for ships at port undergoing network refresh. Overall program support involves integration validation and sell off for various defense systems on the Zumwalt program.

In this role you will apply your experience and technical expertise in planning integration test and activation of the following Ships Elements such as C4I System Segment (SC4I) Sensor System Segment (SSEN)EngagementSegment(SENG) Ships Control Systems (SCS) Total Ships ComputingEnvironment(TSCEi)andSupportSystemSegment (SSUP).

Position Location: Pascagoula MS

Travel not anticipated.

What You Will Do

  • Network installations and maintenance with knowledge of CISCO Systems (routers switches Call Administration servers.
  • Software installations and maintenance with knowledge of Linux / Unix operating systems on RedHat7 as well as knowledge of Java / C / C.
  • Ships External Communications System (EXCOMMs) and C4I installation integration and troubleshooting.
  • Initial responsibilities will include taking down old networks pulling cables and racks out. Populate and depopulate Server racks.
  • Upkeep and installation of the TSCEI (Total Ship Computing Environment Infrastructure) software aboard Zumwalt Class vessels.
  • Workcollaborativelywith a team of highly skilled Software and Network Technician and Engineers.
  • Perform equipment installation checkout testing reporting of results EXCOMMs C4I SW HW and FW upgrades and maintaining records asneeded.
  • Provide regular internal status reports to the TSCEi Team.
  • Providesupportdemonstrating system stage tests.
  • Interactwith the Shipbuilder SUPSHIP ShipsForceand outside vendors on TSCE issues and concerns.
  • Ability to perform normal climbing and lifting associated with shipboard electronic work.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience. May use experience in lieu of education.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with software / network systems hardware / software integration or system activation and test including hands-on experience working with electrical and computer systems design integration and test in either a lab or field setting.
  • Experience with Naval Communications systems and C4I systems.
  • Previous experience safely conduct testing and integration in a shipboardenvironment.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated track record of completed integrationevents.
  • Customerfocus andcollaborationskills.
  • DemonstratedMulti-tasking skills - close out projects completely.
  • Prior experience working with Military and Commercial Marine control systems.
  • Experience with test procedure development and test conduct.
  • Familiarity with Zumwalt Ship networks and equipment.
  • Computer Network and Fiber Optic Certifications.
  • Information System Networks experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • C4I and combat system test tools (hardware and software).
  • Ability to perform work on board a naval vessel under construction and during trial periods at sea. Prior experience working in thisenvironmentwould be an advantage.
  • Interest in future work which may involve travel while providing support to ships under construction or underway for at seaevents a plus.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSACAS) an agency of the Department of Defense handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website here: salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
