Main duties
- set high expectations which inspire motivate and challenge pupils
- develop effective teaching and learning strategies
- plan and implement engaging lessons that cater to a range of abilities ensuring that all our students feel included and supported in their learning
- assess monitor and track student progress providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their goals
- ability to manage behaviour in the classroom to foster a positive learning environment
- promote and monitor the use of school policies within the subject
- promote a high standard of speaking listening writing and reading of English for both students and colleagues
- contribution to curriculum development and the enhancement of teaching resources which will help ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of the subject
- attend relevant training courses to continue own professional development
- establish positive working relationships among colleagues modelling effective teamworking and support
- develop positive communication with pupils and parents.
