You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailTomlinson Group of Companies is seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics Supervisor to oversee our trucking operations including dispatching of internal and external trucks liaising with external trucking companies and managing a team of dispatchers. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient and effective movement of our materials maintain strong relationships with external partners and lead a dedicated team to achieve our operational goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Dispatching Internal and External Trucks
Oversee and coordinate the dispatching of internal and external trucking operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and equipment.
Develop and manage dispatch schedules ensuring optimal routing and load efficiency.
Monitor and manage the performance of dispatch operations to meet service and cost objectives.
Liaising with External Trucking Companies
Establish and maintain strong relationships with external trucking companies to secure reliable and cost-effective transportation services.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with external trucking providers.
Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies with external partners promptly.
Team Management
Lead mentor and manage a team of dispatchers providing guidance support and performance feedback.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment encouraging professional growth and development.
Conduct regular team meetings to review performance address challenges and implement improvements.
Operational Efficiency
Monitor and analyze logistics operations to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure logistics performance.
Ensure accurate permit documentation and record-keeping for all logistics activities.
Customer Service
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are met and service levels are maintained.
Respond to customer inquiries and complaints ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
5 years of experience in logistics or transportation management.
A Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field is considered an asset.
Proven experience in dispatching internal and external trucking operations.
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with external trucking companies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Experience in managing and mentoring a team.
Solid organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in transportation management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency in Tread software would be considered an asset.
