Job Description

Imagine playing a central role in reducing the carbon footprint of Canadas busiest public transit system while working for a consistently ranked Top Employer with a global reach. As part of the ONxpress consortium Alstom is proudly transforming the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project and we are hiring for hundreds of roles. The GO Expansion scope includes new electric locomotives fleet upgrades train control systems network electrification signaling telecommunications digital systems maintenance and much more.

Objective

• Be responsible for the coordination of design models both internally and externally.
• Provide guidance to Subsystem Design and BIM teams to ensure the delivery and quality of documentation in compliance with the project BIM execution plan.
• Review incoming and outgoing information to ensure proper exchange in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Validate and collect inputs from other disciplines and share them with subsystems for design production.
• Ensure that all models and processes align with the project BIM execution plan and ISO 19650 standards.
• Creat custom Dynamo scripts to automate repetitive tasks in Autodesk software (e.g. Revit Civil 3D) to enhance workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Implement project-specific standards and the BIM Execution Plan.
• Assess Civil inputs for quality and usability and provide these inputs for subsystem design development.
• Ensure subsystem BIM models comply with BIM Execution Plan requirements.
• Coordinate between subsystems and other civil partners on the project.
• Attend and lead coordination meetings with subsystems and civil partners.
• Create and maintain the federated model including subsystem and civil partner models.
• Ensure proper use and updates of BIM guidelines and processes throughout the design process.
• Manage tools used for design development coordination and collaboration.
• Enforce the model development schedule defined by the System BIM Manager and Project Engineering Manager.
• Share applicable baselines throughout the project teams.
• Support the BIM Manager in the deployment of the BIM solution.
• Create and maintain custom Dynamo scripts to automate repetitive tasks in Autodesk software (e.g. Revit Civil 3D) to enhance workflow efficiency.
• Contribute to defining best practices and lessons learned (REX) within the Product Line.
• Participate in process and Metier improvement workgroups when requested proposing updates and improvements to working processes tools and the Reference Library.
• Report anomalies against the reference library and/or local standards and propose improvements or evolutions.
• Develop and customize Dynamo nodes based on project-specific requirements and assist in the creation of new libraries of shared nodes.
• Integrate Dynamo workflows into existing BIM processes to facilitate better coordination and data sharing among project stakeholders.

Performance Measurements

• Maintain an updated list of BIM models and their status.
• Contribute to enforcing best practices within the BIM and design teams.
• Report on design development and clash management status to the System BIM Manager and Interface Manager.

Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Architecture or Engineering or equivalent education.
• BIM and/or AutoCAD Certification.
• Hands-on experience with Revit Civil 3D Navisworks ProjectWise Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and GIS.
• 5 years of BIM coordination experience on complex projects.
