Cybersecurity Engineer 25-015 CONTINGENT - San Diego California


AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting NEW CONTINGENT opportunity for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members working in the Point Loma area of San Diego California.


Provide Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization (A&A) services and serve as a Cybersecurity expert for Navy Afloat programs throughout all stages of acquisition systems engineering and maintenance processes. Be familiar with Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) responsibilities in accordance with the US Navys Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process Guide as follows:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a systems cybersecurity solutions.
  • Identify areas of operation and Service Contract Act (SCA) cognizance of the system as well as any applicable authorization requirements such as reciprocity cross domain and applicable overlays to support system categorization.
  • Identify and tailor the security control baseline with applicable overlays.
  • Assist with development maintenance and tracking of the System Security Plan (SSP).
  • Lead the security control implementation and testing efforts.
  • Perform vulnerability-level risk assessment on the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Ensure the execution of any security testing required as part of A&A or annual reviews.
  • Ensure the mitigation and closure of open vulnerabilities under the systems change control process.
  • Oversee cybersecurity testing to assess security controls and record security control compliance status during the continuous monitoring phase of the system lifecycle.
  • Ensure data entered into the eMASS record and POA&M is consistent with implementation results.
  • Participate in the system engineering process to ensure the systems security and cybersecurity requirements design and testing are properly addressed throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations to government leadership on the management of cybersecurity risks of IT systems and Navy-specific processes in accordance with the RMF Process Guide (RPG).
Requirements

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.
  • IAM level I required. IAT level II preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science degree with focus in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field from an accredited college/university and a minimum five years of applicable experience.
  • Experience with NAVWAR NAVSEA NIWC PAC RMF process required.
  • Good working knowledge of RMF tools for conducting testing and assessments (i.e. eMASS eMASSter RMF SOPs DISA STIGs/SRGs STIG Viewer ACAS EvaluateSTIG and SCAP).
  • Good working knowledge of developing a Security Assessment Plan (SAP) and other RMF required documents.
  • Good working knowledge of DoD IT Portfolio Repository (DITPR)/DoN Application and Database Management System (DADMS).
  • Experience with Navy Certification & Accreditation preferred.
  • Experience with registering Ports Protocols and Services preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Navy afloat platforms preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve high-level complex technical problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range: $130K-145K


An essential qualification for this position is having a security clearance issued by the Federal Government which may require successful completion of a background check.

AUSGARs salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors which include experience skills education certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
