One of the AeroX team missions is performing CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulations to estimate the impact of the trains design on its performance as well as on the safety and comfort of the passengers. A methodology was developed to automate and standardize the way these simulations are performed across the AeroX network.
The goal of this internship is to develop a database that will centralize all the simulation results across the network and thus make access and analysis of the simulation data possible by any user. The database needs to be integrated into the AeroX workflow store the simulation information (such as date user project run number solver version elapsed time) as well as the results stored in *.csv files allowing any user to retrieve the evolution of simulation parameters.
Our intern shall also participate in the development of an easily accessible interface (such as an excel file) for users to query the database in order to retrieve results for comparative analysis or for statistics purpose.
Missions:
- Get used to the methodology in place for CFD simulations and the cluster working environment
- Propose a database architecture matching the AeroX technical requirements
- Build the database and ensure integration with the current working environment
- Test the functionality of the database on some use cases
- Create the end user interface
- Prepare a technical report detailing the scripts used to build the database and including the complete source code

Profile:
- Master or Bachelor degree in engineering school
- Experience in data management (MariaDB MySQL)
- Good knowledge of Softwares: STAR-CCM (CFD) Python Java VBA Power BI
- Fluent inFrench & English
Contract: Internship of 6 months as of May 2025
