Your future duties and responsibilities:

Job Summary:
CGI is looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL DB2 and VSAM to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing developing maintaining and supporting business-critical mainframe applications.
You will work closely with business analysts QA teams and other IT professionals to ensure seamless application functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Design develop test and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL DB2 and VSAM.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Perform data analysis and write complex SQL queries on DB2 databases.
Maintain and optimize batch and online programs.
Perform unit and integration testing; support user acceptance testing (UAT).
Provide production support and troubleshoot application issues.
Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards and best practices.
Document application changes and update system documentation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Strong hands-on experience in COBOL DB2 and VSAM.
Experience with JCL CICS and mainframe utilities (e.g. IDCAMS IEBGENER).
Knowledge of mainframe development lifecycle and change management tools.
Proficient in writing and debugging SQL and working with stored procedures in DB2.
Good understanding of file handling batch jobs and performance tuning.
Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall development methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in financial services insurance or banking domain.
