Develop high-quality lifting plans and evaluate lifting activities to ensure the safe efficient and compliant execution of heavy lifting projects. Provide technical support to lifting activities through interpreting technical diagrams applying engineering principles and providing technical advice on lifting operations. Cooperatively work as a member of integrated project teams with the Project Engineer other disciplines outside contractors construction forces customers and management.
Responsibilities include planning organizing and working closely with maintenance and operation teams on ongoing lifting activities. Defining standards for and participating in the monitoring and assessment of lifting operations. Promoting a continuous improvement culture within the team by recommending improvements in procedures and work practices. Providing technical advice on matters pertaining to lifting operations deviations or non-compliance. Providing support to Maintenance Teams as necessary in the detail and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities on lifting equipment. This position requires self-motivation and skills in understanding and application of lifting principles theories and concepts. Working knowledge of other related disciplines and how those disciplines interface with lifting systems is also required.
In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. Baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major 2 years job-related and 1-year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).DOE 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A)
