Who are we looking for
We are after an experienced Cook to work in our Grange aged care facility to utilise your creativity and passion for food to deliver outstanding meals for our residents that are nutritious and delicious.
If youre looking for a role to utilise your cooking skills in a dynamic environment then we have a great role for you! The position of Cook in our Aged care sites will give you lots of variety and job satisfaction as you look after the nutritional needs and health of our residents. This role also leads and support our hospitality team to assist in meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
What can you expect to be doing
- Prepare enjoyable nutritious meals for our residents in our Grange site based on their individual requirements or modified diet
- Liaise with the staff at the centre for feedback on how meals were received and for any updates to dietary requirements.
- Use initiative be organised and flexible to meet food service needs including promotion of healthy eating practices.
- Lead and assist the hospitality team in meal preparation and following food handling practices
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace to a high-standard.
- Provide prompt courteous service and act in a professional manner at all times when dealing with residents families team and colleagues.
What do you need to bring
- Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent
- Experience working in an aged care environment is highly desirable
- Proven ability to work positively and productively to prepare and deliver quality nutritious flavoursome meals that meet legislative regulatory and dietary requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of food hygiene practices.
- Ability to develop a strong cohesive work team.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact with our residents in a friendly manner.
- Proven ability to liaise with suppliers and order supplies for the kitchen within budget.
