Job Description
REPORTS TO:School Administration
SUPERVISES:N/A
PURPOSE: Toprovide quality instruction to studentsin accordance withtheMontessoriphilosophy andthe North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach SEL to Kindergarten-8th grade
- Utilizes designing and delivering SEL lessons activities and interventions for students.
- Provides opportunities for SEL experiences both on campus and off
- Plans and directs students in an art show for school and community.
- Differentiate SEL curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and the student body.
- Plans a balanced program and organizes daily class time so that preparation and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly productive environment
- Evaluates each students growth and contribution to the performance of the group that allows everyone to contribute.
- Communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid North Carolina teaching license in counseling and/or social work preferred.
- A Bachelors degree in a relevant content area
- Pass Criminal Background Check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 full years working with children
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field
- Fluency in Spanish
