West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks an Emergency Medicine Physician. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in various sites across southern West Virginia. The primary location for this position is Summersville Regional Medical Center.
Nestled within a community of about 26000 residents Summersville is centrally located in the heart of the state. Summersville and Nicholas County provide low crime rates low commuting times combined with lower-than-average cost of living excellent education systems and an abundance of close-proximity outdoor activities including at nearby Summersville Lake the Gauley and New Rivers. The area is a premier choice to raise a family retire or just enjoy a better overall quality of life.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited residency program and be board-certified or board-eligible via a recognized board within ABMS. Emergency Medicine Preferred FM/IM considered with significant Emergency Medicine Experience. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginias largest health system and the states largest employer. The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer heart and vascular and neuroscience among many others. The Health System operates West Virginias first and only multi-organ transplant center and opened a new 150-bed Childrens Hospital in September 2022.
