Mission Technologies a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a Systems Administrator 3 to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) Joint Staff J7(JS J-7) contract at our Suffolk VA Joint Staff Complex.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Manage configure and maintain servers storage and related IT infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
Implement security best practices including user access controls data encryption patch management and firewall configurations.
Develop and maintain backup solutions for critical systems and data.
Act as a key point of contact for technical support requests diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues.
Participate in IT deployments upgrades and migrations.
Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems including coordination with network administrators.
Monitor maintain and support servers workstations and network devices.
Install and configure operating systems and application software on servers and GFE.
Provide technical support to end users for hardware software and networking issues.
Manage user accounts permissions and group policies in Active Directory.
Apply software patches and perform regular system updates.
Assist with system backups and disaster recovery testing.
Maintain documentation for systems processes and procedures.
Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and upgrades.
Escalate complex issues to senior administrators as needed.
Maintain security and privacy of the information systems.
Minimum Qualifications
6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
Hands-on experience with server administration (Windows/Linux).
Security Certification (or must have within 90 days of employment).
Must have and be able to maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
