Position Overview
The Part-Time Attendance Clerk plays a vital role in promoting student success by monitoring daily attendance identifying chronic absenteeism and supporting timely intervention efforts. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate attendance records generating detailed reports for Assistant Principals and fostering positive communication with students parents and school staff. The Attendance Clerk serves as a key member of the administrative team ensuring that attendance data is reliable and attendance-related concerns are addressed promptly and compassionately.

Daily Hours: 7:30am-12:30pm
Contract Days - 200
Key Duties
- Monitor daily student attendance and promptly enter accurate data into the attendance management system.
- Identify and track students with chronic absenteeism initiating appropriate follow-up actions in collaboration with school administrators and support staff.
- Generate and distribute regular attendance reports for Assistant Principals to support attendance intervention strategies.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians regarding attendance issues including absentee notifications and follow-ups.
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling attendance-related meetings and documentation including attendance hearings or intervention plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of student records at all times.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with students parents and school staff to encourage regular attendance and address barriers.
- Support other clerical and administrative tasks as assigned by school leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in office administration or education preferred.
- Prior experience in an educational or administrative setting preferably involving attendance tracking or data management.
- Proficient in data entry and management software with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Previous experience with PowerSchool preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially in parent and student interaction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in sensitive situations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school administrators staff students and families.
