Job Description

Research Commercial Lead

  • $148113 per annum 11.5% superannuation
  • Full time ongoing opportunity
  • Wadawurrung/Geelong based role (hybrid work from home 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

The Research Commercial Lead plays a significant role in ensuring efficient and effective delivery of the multi-dimensional research program. This involves driving effective contract management engagements with research providers quality improvements and financial management.

The Lead delivers on the strategic objectives aligned to the Research business plan as well as the overarching WorkSafe Strategy. The role will drive a high performing and positive culture and coordinate the work of others to achieve the agreed strategic outcomes. The role requires an enthusiastic leader with a growth mindset and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to build and support strategic partnerships with both internal and external key stakeholders.

Key accountabilities

Govern the management and utilisation of Worksafes Register of Research Providers (WRRP) across WorkSafe Victoria

Manage relationships with the 26 research providers within WRRP and actively identify potential new research providers

Oversee performance management of research providers and negotiate new and existing contracts

Have oversight of the procurement of research services through tendering contracting evaluating and quotation processes proactively identifying and implementing improvements and efficiencies

Coordinate delivery of a diverse and complex portfolio of research activities by overseeing and managing delivery of activities with competing timelines and changing priorities

Ensuring the successfully engaged research providers deliver against their contractual commitments and project schedules and in line with the Master Service Agreements and undertake provider performance reviews

About you

This is an exciting role and would suit someone with experience in management ideally in research and public sector environments. You have highly developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills and a strong customer focus. Youre a natural problem solver who can manage expectations gain agreement and resolve conflicts.

Additionally you will possess the following skills and experience:

Demonstrated strong commercial and financial acumen utilising effective methods to source providers negotiate contracts and run procurement processes

Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver a strategic and complex research portfolio with internal and external stakeholders

Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Demonstrated high level communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence senior management internal stakeholders and industry partners

Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks work accurately with attention to detail and meet deadlines

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in a research environment and tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
