Principles methods and objectives of OT treatment services techniques of skeletal anatomy neuromuscular function and dysfunction kinesiology and OT modalities*Knowledge for identifying and analyzing areas of developmental sensory-motor dysfunction*Demonstrates knowledge of the special education process including but not limited to student evaluation IEP development and student progress monitoring*Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired (e.g. bilingual skills diverse experiences etc.) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*To provide professional consultation services and professional development for teachers and other staff members on recommendations for best practices in occupational therapy.*To provide direct occupational therapy services as identified by students IEP/504 plan to improve access to educational environments.*To administer OT assessments to determine a students level of functioning relative to their age in the areas of fine/gross motor skills development sensory motor integration self-care and activities for daily write assessment reports that identify the students needs and proposed treatment strategies as well as for purposes of IEP development.*To plan and work collaboratively within the districts Motor Team (including the Physical Therapist).*To communicate with families of students who have an OT treatment program for home-based follow through if needed*To administer OT programs as needed in terms of equipment recommendations and other relevant educational materials.*To adapt equipment to assure proper positioning and to enhance functional performance of the student.*To help support the Districts competency-based educational model as it relates to the role of an OT.*To perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Integrated Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
