Job Title: PEIMS Analyst Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: PEIMS Manager Pay Grade: T5

Supervises:
Primary Purpose: The goal of the PEIMS Analyst is to assist in the preparation of PEIMS and Core Collection reporting processes which will include monitoring data for accuracy conducting audits preparing PEIMS related reports and providing support for special population departments.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors Degree required
Degree in Computer Science or Information Management Systems preferred
Special Knowledge Skills:
Working knowledge of local state and federal requirements for data reporting and ability to interpret new requirements including the PEIMS Data Standards and Student Attendance Accounting Handbook;
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office products particularly Excel Access Word Power Point One Note and Share Point;
Demonstrated ability to create reports by merging files from a variety of data sources;
Strong presentation and communication skills;
Ability to read and interpret technical material and specifications;
Demonstrated ability to provide technical support and training;
Ability to work with other staff members as part of a team within a mainframe production-oriented environment;
Excellent writing editing organization analytical and investigative skills;
Demonstrated leadership;
Demonstrated customer-oriented attitude.
Experience:
Minimum two years professional level experience in student applications business applications or state reporting in public education.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Stay knowledgeable of PEIMS and Core Collection reporting requirements;
Execute a timeline of PEIMS preparation and verification;
Perform periodic leaver audits;
Assist campuses with updating and verifying leaver code information;
Assist special program departments to implement a data monitoring system and provide data reports as needed;
Investigate data anomalies related to PEIMS or Core Collections;
Assist with maintenance of Data Governance documentation and coordination of periodic reviews;
Monitor PEIMS data elements in a cyclical manner to ensure data is accurate at all times;
Perform audits on various data elements working with campuses and special population departments;
Work with campuses to ensure their processes will deliver accurate data for state reporting;
Provides training and makes presentations to district employees in one-on-one as well as group sessions to enable them to properly implement and manage applications;
Develops produces and maintains written documentation and training materials;
Performs data validation and compilation for Office of Civil Rights reporting;
Performs complex reconciliation and correction tasks with respect to special populations data and/or data that is reported to TEA via PEIMS;
Constantly demonstrates a proactive attitude in securing information stays informed of applications software modifications & enhancements& anticipates customer needs & recommends solutions;
Resolves technical obstacles & provides recommended solutions;
Performs other duties as assigned.
