Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Manufacturing Engineer III with a strong background in manufacturing and a passion for automation technologies. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who excels at solving complex problems driving continuous improvement and leading the integration of advanced automation solutions in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience. Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks) and a solid foundation in process development validation and automation system integrationincluding PLCs robotics and cobotsis essential. This role also includes mentoring junior engineers and supporting long-term automation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead multi-functional projects passionate about automation safety quality delivery and efficiency improvements.
Identify automation opportunities within manufacturing and develop scalable cost-effective solutions.
Serve as a technical mentor particularly in automation robotics and process optimization.
Oversee automation and manufacturing projects from concept through implementation ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Collaborate with Operations Quality EHS and Automation teams to ensure compliance with safety regulatory and cGMP standards.
Develop and document User Requirement Specifications (URS) for new equipment and systems.
Lead Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) of automated and robotic systems.
Support all phases of equipment and process validation.
Design and improve mechanical systems fixtures and tooling using CAD tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Implement and optimize automation technologies including Allen-Bradley PLCs cobots industrial robots and vision systems.
Use statistical tools (e.g. DOE T-tests ANOVA Gage R&R) to analyze and enhance automated processes.
Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Drive continuous improvement through lean principles process mapping and data-driven decision-making.
Support data collection analysis and visualization to guide process enhancements.
Scope & Complexity
Broad responsibility across automation integration process engineering validation and mechanical design.
Involved in equipment selection tooling design and automation architecture particularly in plastic injection molding and related systems.
Key contributor in identifying and scaling automation initiatives across operations.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Controls Automation Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or automation engineering.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD).
Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs collaborative and industrial robots and system integration.
Background in mechanical design fixturing and process development.
Familiarity with validation protocols and regulatory standards (e.g. FDA ISO cGMP).
Strong problem-solving and statistical analysis skills.
Excellent communication collaboration and leadership abilities.
