Mental Health Practitioner


People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking Mental Health Practitioners for our Corrections Integrated Support team. This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team providing re-entry services specifically for justice-impacted individuals from initial assessments to integrated release planning pre- and post-release care coordination and access to community supports.


Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday regular business hours


Locations: Services are provided in the community primarily in the Hennepin and Ramsey County area with a mix of telehealth and in person meetings


Hiring Range: $24.20 - $26.14 hourly depending on qualifications and work experience Plus $1000 hiring bonus for external candidates

Main Job Duties:

  • Using person-centered principles actively engage clients in their mental health recovery and develop and maintain appropriate relationships that support the client in meeting their individual goals.
  • Facilitate and conduct individual services that address a variety of needs and health concerns for the client. May facilitate and conduct group interventions if applicable.
  • Provide collateral information for nursing assessments and conduct interviews and gather information to inform treatment planning plan-of-care reviews and discharge plans as needed or directed.
  • Document interactions and interventions with clients according to program requirements into the organizations Electronic Health Record (EHR) and/or record-keeping system.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms or other emotional and/or behavioral responses while prioritizing client and program safety.
  • Participate in coordination of services through the recognition of the multiple needs of the client with other providers in the community in an effort to provide necessary resources to the client.
  • Provide various skill-building teaching and/or coaching as it relates to the individuals goal and/or treatment plan.
Requirements

Required qualifications MH Pract II:

  • Travel required- Current non restricted drivers license along with access to a vehicle is required
  • High school diploma
  • 10000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with serious and persistent mental illness

OR

  • Bachelors degree in a behavioral science
  • 4000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with serious and persistent mental illness

OR

  • Masters degree in a behavioral science

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with co-occurring medical and/or chemical dependency and SPMI
  • Experience in providing culturally competent services to underserved populations
  • Experience working within or providing services within a criminal justice or law enforcement environment
  • Lived experience as a member of a diverse community
