Job Description

Receives all histology specimens and processes them using various methodologies complex machinery and staining systems. The histotechnician will then prepare the slides for Pathologist review by cutting prepared blocks of tissue utilizing complex machineryPositionCase Volume: 200/dayWeekend REQ: TBDWill this traveler need to float between like units NoSTART: ASAPIs on-call required NoOpen to accommodating block schedule Case by caseRTO: 7 days of RTO permittedSpecial Requirements: ASCP-HT ASCP-HTL mounting procedures tissue processing tissue embedding cutting/microtomy slide stainingAdditional Details: Provides timely and courteous service to patients physicians and hospital staff by performing histology procedures accurately and efficiently. Provides technical expertise decision making and problem solving skills based on in-depth knowledge of histology techniques principles instruments and their relationships. Ability to perform tissue processing embedding cutting and slide staining on a variety of tissue types. Willing to teach and/or train employees in basic and advanced histology procedures.
