REPORTS TO: This position falls under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Schools but is expected to exercise initiative hands-on leadership and independent judgment in performance of assigned : Supervise staff where appropriate and contribute to the staffing decisions with the District when requested by the OF EMPLOYMENT: 220 DaysJOB SUMMARY: To provide leadership in the planning development implementation coordination and evaluation of the Districts K-12 curriculum instruction assessment and professional development : Certified by the NH State Department of Education as an Administrator. Masters Degree with a major in Educational Administration Education Leadership and/or Curriculum Development. Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience and five years of successful administrative experience. Prior experience in curriculum development and coordination of professional development activities RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Assist the Superintendent of Schools in the administration of the Districts educational program.2. Lead the planning development implementation evaluation and improvement of curriculum and instructional services throughout the District.3. Support the full instructional program in all schools by collaboratively working with building administrators faculty and staff.4. Direct the coordination supervision and evaluation of instructional materials selection.5. Promote effective uses of technology in curriculum instruction and professional development to achieve program goals and to enhance learning objectives for students.6. Coordinate district-wide research student achievement data collection and analysis required State and Federal testing and programs and evaluation of all data and testing results to measure the effectiveness of the curricular and instructional programs.7. Provide a continuing program of professional development and training by coordinating designing implementing and evaluating in-service and professional development programs throughout all levels and areas in the District.8. Work with the administrative team to offer professional development activities that meet the needs of teachers schools and the district.9. Develop and disseminate documentation reports and presentations relative to data obtained from district-wide assessments.10. Work with the Superintendent Business Administrator and building administration to develop and coordinate those sections of the budget and grants that pertain to curriculum instruction and professional development.11. Pursue State Federal and other funding sources and grants beyond the operating budget that support the improvement of the curricular instructional and professional development programs.12. Maintain current professional knowledge of developments in curriculum instruction and professional development through research trend analysis and other learning sources.13. Adhere to Federal and State statutes administrative rules and regulations and School Board and District policies.14. Attend and provide support at School Board meetings that relate to curriculum and/or instruction.15. Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.16. Direct procedures to ensure input from all appropriate levels of personnel involved with the implementation of curriculum plans programs and projects.17. Provides coaching and mentoring to develop rigorous competency based instruction and assessment.18. Assist staff members in completing alternative certification plans and documents.19. Maintain access to current professional development literature professional organizations and workshops related to best practices and disseminate information to other department school-based administrators and teachers.20. Assist with the implementation of innovative practices.21. Provide district representation by participating in workshops professional meetings and conferences on various topics that are provided by state agency professional associations and local resources generally located within the state of New Hampshire.22. Assist the Superintendent with though not limited to: Long-range planning evaluation of school programs implementation of School Board policies preparation of annual reports preparation of state and federal administrative reports and preparation/dissemination of the SAU KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:1. Thorough knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design teaching and instruction for individuals and groups and the measurement of training effects.2. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning resource allocation leadership technique and coordination of people and resources.3. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability personality and interests; and learning and motivation.4. Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform via written oral and visual media.5. Ability to clearly convey information both verbally and in writing.6. Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.7. Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and coaching mentoring or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.8. Ability to plan organize and facilitate group meetings.9. Knowledge in the use of educational software learning management systems and student information systems. Proficient in the use of Alma for grading and reporting preferred.
