Overview

The Director of Media Strategy and Performance is responsible delivering leading the strategic integrated media communication recommendations for Empire. This role will lead the strategic approach and roadmap for media and digital marketing and media innovations that deliver first to market opportunities and creative industry firsts setting Sobeys apart from its competitors. The Director Media leads the strategic transformation of the digital and media portfolio with a focus on increasing brand affinity and consideration driving store traffic and sales growing market share and creating deep customer connections for all Sobeys Inc. banners.

Job Description

  • Lead the strategy and delivery of all banner media investments rooted in business KPIs while maximizing spend effectiveness
  • Lead the digital transformation of our price item communication efforts from print flyers to digital
  • Lead the Media Strategy and Media Planning processes across all paid media channels: search display flyer distribution social and influencer disciplines to enable holistic cross-channel strategies and activation plans
  • Manage the strategy and execution of all Canadian performance media brand media partnerships and agency relationships to drive results and thought-leadership through strategic partnerships
  • Work collaboratively across functions such as Insights and Analytics Planning and Creative to build strategies to improve the effectiveness of multichannel media programs
  • Develop and apply social strategies to support and drive increased customer engagement brand advocacy content marketing community building campaign activation and coordination across earned owned and paid social.
  • Performance marketing through various digital and social channels leading consumers to stores; constantly monitor optimize and execute with excellence thereby driving growth through media effectiveness
  • Develop and manage a media budget based on commercial and brand goals that deliver programs designed to maximize ROI and breakthrough with target audiences.

Job Requirements

  • 10 years marketing expertise from within the industry or agency experience preferred
