Job Description

Special EducatorDistrict-wide This unique position combines direct instruction for students eligible for special education who attend independent schools collaboration with families and independent school personnel mentoring/coaching opportunities for special education staff and curriculum work for special education programs. We seek an experienced special educator who can plan and deliver direct instruction to students work collaboratively with team members and complete evaluations for students enrolled in independent residential and home-school programs. These responsibilities are combined with mentoring and coaching special educators within the district. Mentoring will include guidance for instructional practices special education procedures and regulations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with special education personnel to ensure that a guaranteed and viable curriculum for children in need of specialized instruction is delivered. VT Special Educator endorsement is required. This position is designed to follow the traditional school year calendar with 15 additional work days.
