Job Description:
St. James Regional Catholic School is seeking a part-time (3 days) teacher to teach Music in grades PK3 - 8 for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be someone who can share their love and appreciation of music with the students of SJRCS while also expanding their knowledge of basic musical skills and concepts. The Music Teacher will be responsible for planning delivering and assessing music instruction for students. They will work to create a dynamic and engaging music program that aligns with both academic standards and Catholic values fostering a love for music and a deeper connection to faith.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that includes instruction in music theory appreciation history and performance.
Lead and direct school choirs ensembles and individual performances.
Prepare students for participation in school liturgies including selection and rehearsal of appropriate sacred music.
Organize and conduct school-wide musical events such as concerts Christmas programs and spring performances.
Integrate Catholic teachings and values into music instruction and performances.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support musical development.
Maintain and care for musical instruments and equipment.
Collaborate with faculty staff and parents to support student learning and the school community.
Participate in faculty meetings professional development and school events as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Music Education or related field (required).
PA Teaching Certificate (preferred).
Experience in teaching music at the elementary level (preferred).
Strong proficiency in vocal and instrumental music.
Ability to lead and inspire students in musical performances.
Understanding and appreciation of Catholic faith and traditions.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
