Job Description

Job Title: Design and Professional Learning Lead FLSA Status:Exempt Pay Grade: 103 Work Days: 226 Reports To: Coordinator of Instructional Services Primary Purpose This position leads Design Lab services to support internal consultants in the development of effective professional learning grounded in the frameworks of design thinking and learning transfer. This position works closely with subject-matter experts and coordinators to improve learning and development for internal and external customers. Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Education/Certification Bachelors Degree in Education or related field Masters Degree in Education or related field Principal Certification preferred Design Thinking Training and/or related Certification Special Knowledge/Skills Team-oriented attitude and desire to work collaboratively with ESC staff and external clients such as campus/district/charter school personnel. Strong organizational communication public relations and interpersonal skills. Strong technology integration skills. Ability to create and provide professional development based on predetermined material or resources. Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness. Understand differentiated instruction to ensure success for all students. Depth of knowledge in lesson design and pedagogy. Depth of knowledge in adult learning theory. Ability to manage self-directed projects. Knowledge of organizational team processes including project management practices and tools Ability to recognize patterns assess needs collaborate and deliver results and solutions Track record as an outstanding problem-solver and strategic thinker Translate complex ideas into simple actionable recommendations Experience Demonstrated campus or district-level leadership Experience with developing facilitating and producing professional learning Minimum of 5 to 8 years of successful classroom teaching experience is required. Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in training teachers or other adults is required. Use of collaboration reflection and professional development to build the capacity of others Plans leads and executes Design Labs learning and development programs and events making regular modifications to programs where necessary in collaboration with the coordinator in collaboration with the coordinator Uses and supports the development of adult learning theory in others Utilizes metrics to evaluate the impact of services and proposes changes based on findings Collaborates with others to provide stretch opportunities coaching staff at all levels to deliver results Demonstrates critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems Quickly reads situations and modifies behavior to build quality relationships Supervisory Duties None Equipment/Specialized Software Used Computers projection devices control panels in meeting rooms printers productivity software software specific to the job assignment network resources internet resources and other hardware and software necessary to perform the functions of the job effectively and efficiently. Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors) Mental: Public relations and people skills are always required work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress. Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours ability to move tables and chairs and load/unload boxes and materials. Prolonged use of a computer. Frequent daily and region-wide travel. Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations. Evaluation Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment in this position is contingent upon performance need and funding.
