Job Details:

Mercer Universitys Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is searching for an Administrative Support Assistant.


Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Medical Director and practice administration team the Administrative Support Assistant provides senior management with a broad range of support that requires judgment and discretion. This staff member works independently to respond to complex and sensitive issues and escalate issues as appropriate. This position will possess strong organizational
communication and leadership skills to facilitate efficiency in a busy outpatient diagnostic center supported by Mercer University School of Medicine.

Duties include:

  • Arrange and schedule appointments meetings and travel arrangements.

  • Collect and distribute mail.

  • Maintain copy machine and community printer.

  • Place and track orders via P-card and/or the requisition system and maintain electronic and/or hardcopy files for orders; maintain related budgets.

  • Prepare letters and other documents according to directions given.

  • Prepare requests for professional travel reconcile travel reimbursements request payments for advance travel plans.

  • Receive telephone calls take messages and exercise discretion in obtaining and providing factual information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma/GED and one year of administrative support experience are required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Applicable Federal State and Local laws rules regulations and codes related to medical and dental practice guidelines.

  • Office management practices and standard operating procedures.

  • Customer service principles.

  • Budgeting Principles and Practices Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and possesses strong computer skills in communications data gathering and reporting.

  • Efficient organizational skills and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to handle and resolve conflicts effectively.
