WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

JOB SUMMARY

The Enrollment Counselor (EC) at SNU Professional and Graduate Studies (PGS) is responsible for developing relationships with adult prospective students towards the goal of enrolling into our Professional and Graduate Studies programs. This position is the first point of contact and will counsel prospective students throughout the admissions process from initial contact to matriculation. Effective candidates should be results driven and passionate about helping students and able to work independently as well as on a team. This position can be on campus remote or hybrid.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

  • Apply proven recruiting methods to help students connect with SNU. This includes prompt follow-up with prospective students using telephone (call/text) and email.
  • Enter and maintain information in the CRM according to Lead Policy.
  • Meet enrollment goals and objectives set by leadership.
  • Work with the Director of Enrollment to build individual databases and provide regular updates on student progress.
  • Articulate transcript reviews.
  • Understand University policies and work with program directors to assist prospective students through the enrollment process.
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned by the Director of Enrollment and/or Vice President of Academic Affairs for PGS.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene. According to SNU policy all faculty and staff must profess faith in Jesus Christ possess a strong personal Christian commitment and be committed to the SNU mission to make Christlike disciples through higher education in a Christ centered community.
  • An understanding of the importance for diversity inclusion and equity
  • Experience and basic proficiency in G-Suite including but not limited to: Gmail Google Docs Google Sheets and some Microsoft functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consistent positivity when interacting with both faculty and students.
  • Superior organizational and problem resolution skills.
  • Goal oriented and highly ethical.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
  • Bachelors degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in higher education recruiting non-traditional adult students is preferred.
  • Experience working in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software preferred.
  • Sales background preferred.

Supervision Received:

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
