Job Description
The Cytotech processes various clinical specimens for cytology evaluation. Analyzes cytology specimens includes preparation examination and interpretations of findings for review by and under the general direction of a pathologist. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Womans Hospital.
Requirements:
- Medical Technology degree with ASCP certification acceptable for cytogenetics and histology.
- Cytotechnologist certification by the ASCP Board of Registry.
- Licensure by the State of Louisiana for Cytology
Responsibilities:
- Maintains reagents media and stains.
- Identifies prepares and stains cytological specimens.
- Screens and evaluates cell samples for the presence of normal and abnormal cells and micro-organisms.
- Makes diagnostic evaluations.
- Reports microscopic findings in accepted histopathologic terminology.
- Correlates and tabulates histological cytologic and clinical information.
- Any other duties as assigned by Womans Hospital.

Monday Friday
7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Pay Range:
Hourly/Non-Exempt
$30.00 $44.00
