Location
This is a hybrid position. You must be in the Ottawa Canada office at least three days a week.
About the team
As a member of our Core Algorithms team you will focus your skills on designing and developing new techniques for testing the analytics engine of our Maestro platform.
This is a full-time 4-month position starting September 2025
To be eligible for a Co-op or Intern position at Kinaxis you must either be currently enrolled in full-time education or if you are a recent/upcoming graduate your graduation date must be within 12 months of the placement end date.
What you will do
- Collaborate with the team to verify and validate heuristic algorithms to ensure they meet quality and performance benchmarks.
- Design and develop tools to process and analyze large datasets.
- Contribute to creating systems that help improve the quality and reliability of our algorithms.
What we are looking for
- Completion of at least 2nd year of studies in Computer Science / Software Engineering
- Experience in data science and Machine Learning
- A love of data and algorithms and the desire to apply them in the real world
- Programming and scripting techniques/languages experience (C C# Python)
- Ability to think outside of the box in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptionally strong analytical skills
Things that would definitely help
- Knowledge and experience in relational database design and usage (SQL complex joins)
- Machine Learning Techniques: Familiarity with supervised and unsupervised learning methods model evaluation and optimization.
- Python Libraries: Hands-on experience with tools like Pandas NumPy and scikit-learn.
- Visualization Skills: Ability to create clear and insightful visualizations to present data patterns and results effectively.
