Purpose
National Logistics Services (NLS) is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Developer with a foundation and C# to join our development team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn grow and contribute to real-world projects in a dynamic logistics environment.
Youll work closely with senior developers and stakeholders to support the development of integration software and APIs. While youll receive guidance and mentorship we value individuals who show initiative curiosity and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance applications and APIs.
- Support integration efforts between internal systems and external platforms.
- Participate in Agile ceremoniesincluding sprint planning daily standups and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Contribute to code reviews and documentation.
- Learn and apply best practices in software development and system design.
- Any other tasks as reasonably required
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent or minimum 12 years of experience in software development and C# (internships or co-op experience welcome).
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and basic design principles.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and data formats such as JSON and XML.
- Exposure to Azure services or cloud development is a plus.
- Understanding of structured code promotion
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or logistics platforms.
- Experience in IBM Power Series and System i is an asset
- Experience working with or reading legacy codebases.
- Familiarity with data formats such as CSV and EDI.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and development workflows.
- Interest in Blazor or front-end frameworks.
