Job Description
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in Cloud Automation to join our Unified Support team in Colombo Sri Lanka. In this role you will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and automation solutions to support our organizations growing needs.
- Design and implement scalable highly available cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery processes
- Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and resource utilization
- Implement and manage containerization and orchestration solutions using Docker and Kubernetes
- Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime
- Ensure security best practices are followed across all cloud environments
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall growth of the DevOps practice
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud automation and DevOps
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field
- 4-5 years of experience in DevOps or similar roles with a strong focus on cloud automation
- Extensive experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Strong skills in configuration management tools such as Ansible Puppet or Chef
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies particularly Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins GitLab CI or GitHub Actions
- Strong scripting skills in Python Bash or PowerShell
- Proficient in version control systems especially Git
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and ELK stack
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments
- Proven track record in implementing and managing microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Azure DevOps Engineer GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
