Position Summary
This position provides comprehensive administrative support and serves as a direct liaison to assigned units within the division. The Senior HR Generalist will require cross-training in multiple human resource functions to support the division effectively in all areas. This role also includes close collaboration with the HR management team HR Manager and HR Director assisting with employee relations matters. Additionally the Senior HR Generalist will supervise the HR Compliance Coordinator and HR Talent Acquisition Coordinator.
Essential Functions
- Process New Hires Re-hires Transfers and Termination for assigned location timely.
- Assist Program Directors and Corps Officers with submission into TSAMM.
- Assist locations with timekeeping processing and time clock training when needed.
- Assist HRTAC with Post Job Openings on internal websites and manage the recruiter database ensure all requests for external postings are forwarded appropriately when needed.
- Notify and process all New Hire or Newly eligible employees Benefits for assigned location.
- Assist HRCC with leave of absence requests in accordance with The Salvation Army policy State and Federal guidelines. FMLA STD LTD etc... for assigned locations.
- Assist HRCC with management of Worker Comp claims for assigned location.
- Attend Divisional Workers Comp Claims Reviews prepare updates for DDHR review.
- Ensure timely entry of E-Verify is done for all New Hires.
- Notify locations of CBRCC request collect documentation and ensure adverse letters are sent when necessary.
- Conduct training for HR processes and best practices throughout the division.
- Manage all required training for assigned location decision driving Harassment etc...
- Add and delete authorized drivers to the Divisional list.
- Notify units and collect all yearly goal setting evaluations input into Ulti-pro for tracking.
- Manage Special Projects as requested by Human Resource Director and Human Resources Manager.
- Professionally develop and construct all outgoing communication to the field after receiving the DHRDs approval. This includes but is not limited to communication of Salvation Army policies and procedures and state and federal laws rules and regulations.
- Complete field visits for compliance audits
- Lead all DHQ Audits prepare needed documents for auditors assist HR manager or HR Director in preparing action plan for any findings.
- Supervise the HR Compliance and HR Talent Acquisition Coordinator providing guidance and mentorship
- Provide day to day technical support to all other HR Generalist as needed
- Manage monthly HR Newsletter as part of the Divisional HR communication plan
- On time and regular attendance a must
- Other duties as assigned.
PAY RATE: $75K-$80K/yr.
Working Conditions
Ability to walk stand bend squat climb kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp push pull objects such as files file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred
- High School Diploma required
- 2-3 years of work experience in Human Resource or related field.
- 3-5-year experience as Human Resource Generalist preferred
- PHR /SPHR preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft office Power Point and Excel
Skills Knowledge & Abilities
- Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).
- Strong Knowledge in all aspects of Human Resources
- Ability to facilitate training
- Ability to multi-task
- Effective communication skills
- High level of integrity ability to maintain confidential information.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and data bases usage.
- Creation of HR Trainings.
