Position Number:129770Position Title (Classification Title):Coordinator I 129770Working Title:Care Services CoordinatorJob Summary:The Care Services Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with campus and community organizations to establish a network of supportive resources aimed at improving student success with an emphasis on financial literacy food security and housing security. The Coordinator will oversee the development of programs and resources for the Louis Maygarden Financial Literacy Program. The Coordinator will also provide case management support to students facing challenges that may impact their academic success.DepartmentDean of Students-Student ServicesFLSA:ExemptMinimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Four years of direct experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.Position Qualifications:Knowledge of financial management topics including budgeting credit management debt management student loans financial planning loans etc.; knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to function well in a high-paced non-routine environment; mature judgment and sound decision making skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills; record keeping and attention to detail are expected; organizational and time management skills; and ability to work well with faculty staff students parents and other applicable stakeholders. Experience developing and assessing student learning and program outcomes.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in finance public administration business social services or a related field; previous experience in a higher education setting; experience in credit counseling ability to mediate problems and objectively review concerns; experience with online data management systems; experience with student development/training; experience with program development; strong recommendations from previous employers and others familiar with the candidates work habits skills and abilities.Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 70% - The Care Services Coordinator will assume primary responsibility for the daily operations of the Louis Maygarden Program for Financial Literacy. This includes organizing workshops and outreach events writing grants tracking data and supervising student workers and volunteers. Responsible for assessing student engagement with the programs resources and serves as the point of contact for collaborating with campus and community members to coordinate financial literacy programs and workshops. Responsible for one-on-one financial coaching for students. Also oversees the daily operations and outreach initiatives of the Argo Pantry which supports students with financial barriers who may be facing food insecurity. Collaborates with the senior development coordinator to secure funding and ensure community partnerships are developed and implemented. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Responsible for meeting with students experiencing non-academic challenges to assess their concerns and provide guidance on addressing these issues. Additionally serves as the primary point of contact for applicants to the Emergency Student Support Scholarship and the Campus Meal Swipe Program. - (Essential)
  • 10% - In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Students will assist in developing updating and assessing student and program-related outcomes for reporting purposes. This position will also support the planning coordination and delivery of training for various campus departments to facilitate the dissemination of information regarding the services offered by the Dean of Students Office. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Engage in activities commensurate with their position that advance and support the Dean of Students of Office including but not limited to outreach initiatives athletic tailgates new student orientation Argo Arrival homecoming and Family weekend; represent the University at community and/or state functions; participate in appropriate professional associations; promote campus and community members in developing and coordinating food drives; and other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
