About the role
Were looking for a hands-on detail-oriented and enthusiastic Global Indirect Tax Lead to support the Tax team at Monzo and our wider Finance team.
Youll be joining our Tax Team and reporting into our Head of Tax. Youll be our Global Indirect Tax Lead owning all UK EU and US indirect tax compliance and advisory. Youll be supported by our Indirect Tax manager along with our local finance teams and local advisors.
Youll play a key role by...
- Owning all of our VAT and other indirect tax compliance and reporting processes and controls both in the UK and overseas. This will include designing the new processes required as we continue to expand internationally
- Assisting the business with indirect tax advice on an adhoc basis both in the UK and overseas. This could be in relation to new contracts new products new operating models or expansion into new countries.
- Designing and owning the Groups indirect tax strategy both in the UK and internationally and youll be responsible for keeping on top of changes in indirect tax rules and practice.
Wed love to hear from you if
- Youre a qualified accountant and/or qualified tax advisor
- You have significant experience working inhouse in VAT ideally including in FinTech or other Financial Services
- Youre an experienced people manager
- Youre energetic and are hands-on with your work tackling whatever needs doing to make things happen
- You enjoy the challenges that come with expansion

This role is based in our London office. Were open to distributed working within the UK (with the expectation of occasional work from our London office for key meetings).
