Job Description
Ohio University Regional Campuses are seeking a part-time instructor to teach in person Teacher Education courses at the undergraduate level. The exact number of Instructors needed is undetermined at this time as it is primarily dependent upon enrollments and overall student demand. When a need arises the department will select qualified candidates from this pool. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach the following in-person sections: EDTE 2200 (Phonics and the Structure of Language) EDEC 1600 (Intro to Child Development) ECEE 3300 (Methods of Teaching Mathematics for Early Childhood and Elementary Education). EDTE 2200: This course provides information and training in the foundations of phonics instruction. In this course candidates explore the historical linguistic and instructional framework related to phonics skill development and learn how to adjust instruction for the needs of all learners. EDEC 1600: Fundamental patterns of childrens physical cognitive and social emotional development and behavior beginning prenatally and continuing through adolescence. Examines how these issues and themes of child development have affected and been affected by societal changes in a progressively more connected diverse and globalized world. ECEE 3300: This course focuses on research-based approaches to teaching mathematics to elementary age children. Students plan and enact mathematics lessons in their field placement and reflect on their teaching. There is a strong emphasis on identifying and building on childrens home community and mathematical strengths; on understanding the relationship between mathematics childrens lives and real-world issues; and on supporting children in making sense of mathematical ideas through problem solving and discussion. Position will include teaching from 3 credit hours to up to 11 credit hours per term.

Masters degree in the field of education by the start date of appointment Experience teaching students Experience using technology for teaching

Current or prior teaching license in area Relevant and recent Pre K-12 classroom-based experience Demonstrated knowledge of theory and research-supported best practices for teaching and learning
