Direct the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the University of Akron Mens Basketball Team.
Essential Functions:
Supervise the workouts of mens basketball student-athletes during practices and pre-season conditioning.
Design workouts for the mbb team and individual players while maintaining and updating computerized workouts.
Oversee the purchase of needed supplies while performing general maintenance and cleaning procedures on equipment.
Collaborate with athletic trainers to analyze athletic injuries and facilitate the rehabilitation process through strength and conditioning workouts.
Perform testing procedures and evaluates results from strength and conditioning workouts for the purpose of recording information and implementing needed
improvements.
Education:
Requires a relevant Bachelors Degree.
Licenses/Certifications/Requirements:
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.).
Experience:
Requires a minimum of 1 (one)year experience coaching strength and conditioning workouts at the collegiate or professional level is required. An understanding of the technical fundamental and principles of weightlifting required. Teaching and strong communication skills required.
