On-Site Supervisor
50-56k Annually
Requirements:
The Supervisor shall be present daily (Monday through Friday 8 hours per day except Federal holidays) at the contracted site.
The supervisor shall have a background with a minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in field supervision (civilian community law enforcement military service law enforcement or security commercial or industrial guard service or security).
In addition the supervisor must meet the Contract Security Guard and Alarm monitor Requirements and Qualifications as set forth in the performance work statement.
Prior to being assigned duties the person selected for a supervisor position must be accepted by the COR.
The supervisor may or may not be part of the guard/alarm monitoring working staff unless approved by the COR. When the supervisor is part of the guard or alarm monitoring staff they shall perform all the functions required at the post they are staffing and shall not depart the post unless relieved.
On-site Supervisors Duties:
The on-site supervisor shall assure the guard(s) and alarm monitor(s):
A. Are in uniform and present a neat appearance.
B. Maintain continued liaison with the COR or designated alternate.
C. Conduct site inspections of all post to ensure compliance of rules and regulations. In making the required supervisory inspection the contractor shall determine at a minimum that the guard is in full uniform when carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the contract. The inspection shall ensure that the overall appearance and demeanor of the guard promulgates professionalism not only during the actual inspection but also throughout the assigned shift. The contractor shall ensure that all results of observations are to be kept in a guard log.
D. When inspecting the guard employee the supervisor shall ensure that:
a. A current copy of the regulations and instructions pertaining to the guard post and guard orders are immediately available at each post of duty.
b. Each guard has studied the orders and regulations and is thoroughly familiar with them.
c. Each guard most always comply with the orders and regulations.
E. Provide for post breaks during their scheduled tour.
F. Conduct quarterly training of all contract Security Guards and Alarm Monitors through the guidance of the VA Police Training Officer Physical Security Section and/or COR.
Training will include but not limited to post policies alarm monitor refresher training.
G. Shall manage Central Alarm monitoring and the performance of the Alarm Monitors.
H. Shall make sure all VA policies and regulations are being followed by his/her
subordinates.
I. Conduct on-spot corrective training for subordinates.
J. Shall make sure paperwork is filed and disposed of in accordance with policy and regulations.
K. Conduct a VA Police approved guard/alarm monitor orientation on individual conduct
and responsibility for contract personnel prior to their duty assignments. Each employees initial orientation will be documented and signed by the employee and supervisor. A copy shall be forwarded to the COR.
L. Shall make sure alarm monitors and guards are up to date with all training (i.e. VA and WEAPON/NCIC etc.). NCIC etc.).
M. The contractor supervisor shall personally contact the COR during the first week of every
month to review and discuss matters of mutual concern. Contact may
