As a Senior Planning Officer you will make a significant contribution towards the preparation monitoring and review of Development Plan Documents working with stakeholders to deliver sustainable development. Ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities youll play a pivotal role in shaping Wiltshires communities and future landscape.
For this role you will need to have significant experience working as a planning officer within the public or private sector including mentoring junior members of staff and some experience of representing an organisation at a planning inquiry or examination in public.
Skills Knowledge & experience required
- Strong working knowledge of the UK planning system and plan-making processes.
- Relevant degree in planning or a related subject or equivalent experience in a planning-related role.
- RTPI-accredited qualification (e.g. Diploma or Masters in Town Planning).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office databases and GIS tools.
- Significant experience as a planning officer including appeals and/or local plan examinations.
- Confident working in a political environment and handling sensitive matters professionally.
- Excellent research report writing and project management skills.
