Job Description

The Office of the Registrar at SAIT is an essential part of the student journey the front line of student support from admissions to convocation. We are committed to informing and assisting our current and future students from initial inquiry through to graduation and employment.

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about helping students Join SAITs Office of the Registrar as a Customer Service Representative and be the first point of contact for student inquiries. Your role will be pivotal in providing consistent reliable information and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to student inquiries with patience and clarity.
- Communicate complex information effectively to a diverse audience.
- Resolve conflicts with professionalism and empathy.
- Assist with registrar office transactions (course registrations adding/dropping courses etc.).
- Support students with admissions questions and basic troubleshooting.

Skills Required:
- Calm and patient demeanor even during busy periods.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to handle conflict resolution.
- Generalist knowledge to assist with a broad range of student needs.

The Role

    • Responds to student inquiries in person online and on the telephone
    • The vast majority of this role will be responding to student inquiries in a call centre environment and on a front line
    • This individual will also reply to email inquiries in a polite and professional manner
    • CSRs will conduct outbound call campaigns to support department KPIs including encouraging registration or fee payment.
    • Create and build a respectful working environment using professional language tone and communicationwith our diverse body of clients.
    • Expectation of a commitment to intercultural respect for all individuals. Foundational understanding of equity diversity and inclusivity and commitment to ongoing learning.
    • In depth understanding of the student cycle. Knowledge of SAIT academic policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and communicate them to students faculty parents counsellors and other stakeholders.
    • Accurate data entry maintaining records of student interactions and maintaining the integrity of academic records.

Qualifications & Experience

    • 2 years of post-secondary education or equivalent experience
    • Diploma preferred
    • 2 years customer service experience preferred

    • Strong communication both written and verbal
    • Conflict resolution skills
    • Knowledgeable of EDI
    • Excellent organizational and time management
