HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Valid Iowa Teaching License (appropriate endorsement code for grade levels) or Statement of Professional
Recognition. - Minimum of two years of teaching experience (or educational setting experience for a Statement of Professional
Recognition) - At least one year of middle school or high school coaching experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills public relations and interpersonal skills

BASIC FUNCTION:
Tasked with monitoring analyzing and improving student engagement through student attendance behavior
and academic systems in coordination with the School Administration and overall school improvement efforts.
Assist the building administration in the implementation of a school-wide MTSS by leading the effort for
engaging youth in authentic and relevant co-curricular activities during and after the school day. Organizes
leads and evaluates all activities clubs events to ensure data driven equitable outcomes for all students.
Develops new programs for engaging disadvantaged marginalized and underserved populations while
monitoring and measuring effectiveness of current programs based on district metrics. Leverages District Early
Indicator System (EIS) to ensure programs are targeted and decrease the likelihood of students dropping out of
school. A skillful communicator; adept at increasing family community and staff involvement. Self-starter
results driven innovator with the ability to work independently
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead organize and administer the overall engagement programming in the middle school aligned with district goals student outcomes family community and decreasing the likelihood of students dropping out of school.
- Assists in the implementation and execution of programs and initiatives in co/extra-curricular activities that
promote and support diversity and address disproportionate outcomes in the school. - Lead the student engagement activities in the building to improve student attendance behavior and
academic outcomes. - Assist the middle school principal in obtaining and evaluating findings (including student achievement data)
to gauge activity program effectiveness and ensure that program renewal is continuous and responsive to
student needs. - Work with teachers and staff to embed engagement activities during the school day which are aligned with
and support curriculum outcomes. - Provide timely data analysis and action steps to the School Principal and Director of District Activities and
Community Education. - Support the middle school principal and high school activities director in the selection assignment and
evaluation of athletic coaches and sponsors. - Assume responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all athletic events and practices.
- Coordinate home events and the securing of game officials and ensuring preparation of facilities.
- Provide oversight for all middle school events at the high school with guidance and support from the High
School Activity Director. - Coordinate all coaching and sponsor visits presentations and events coming to the middle school from the
high school; serve as the liaison to the feeder pattern development. - Oversee the arrangement of transportation to and from all out of school activities.
- Enforce physical and academic requirements of eligibility for participating in each sport and verify each
athletes and participants eligibility. - Assist the coaches and sponsors in enforcing the school code of conduct and individual team rules.
- Coordinate record keeping and results of all middle school athletic/sponsor contests and maintain a file of all
participants and award winners (i.e. Infinite Campus). - Oversee the process of cleaning ordering and storing of all athletic uniforms and equipment.
- Attend monthly school district and community meetings as required.
- Foster positive school-community relations by keeping the community aware of activities occurring in the
middle school through the website social media or other tools. - Attend professional development as requested.

WORKING CONDITIONS:Mostly indoors with some outdoor responsibilities during recess and arrival/dismissal
