St. JosephsProgressive Care Unitisan intermediate level of care between general hospital floors and an intensive care unit (ICU) providing a step-down unit for patients transitioning from critical care.
PCU patients conditionsrequire morefrequent monitoringthan general units but arent unstable enough for ICUcare.

Our highly trained cardiac nurses care for a wide variety of cardiac conditions including heart attacks heart failure cardiac procedures and heart arrhythmias.

Monitoring and interpretation of patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms and communicate any changes indicating a more serious condition
We are offering a $20000 sign on bonus and relocation assistance for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Associates Degree in Nursing plus five (5) years of RN experience OR Bachelors in Nursing plus three (3) years of RN experience
Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse II performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire
Required Licensure and Certifications
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
Current approved national certification:
American Heart Association BLS-CPR
ACLS within 6 months
Required Minimum Knowledge Skills Abilities and Training
Effective Communication
Knowledge of the principles and skills of the nursing process to provide patient care and treatment.
Critical thinking skills
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
Basic Computer skills familiarity with Windows based software programs.
