Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The primary purpose and function of this position is to provide weekend staffing support to ensure staffing ratios are maintained and all health and safety concerns are immediately addressed by receiving phone calls responding to urgent requests and addressing immediate staffing needs. This position will normally be scheduled to be on-call and available for filling a shift from 4:00pm on Fridays until 8am on Mondays. The Weekend PRN On-Call will advocate for the removal of architectural environmental attitudinal financial employment communication transportation community integration and any other barriers to the persons receiving services through TNC Community. Responsible for reporting all suspected/alleged abuse and neglect in accordance with TNC policies.

III. GENERAL AND PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. The Weekend On-Call Supervisor will begin taking staff calls starting at 4pm on Friday and will end at 8am Monday morning.

2. The Weekend On-Call Supervisor will receive an email from Program Director/Manager or designee on Friday afternoon with the current schedule and any important staff updates or concerns going into the weekend. The email will also include a list of assigned tasks to complete if there are no shifts to fill.

3. The Weekend On-Call Supervisor will keep the on-call phone on and with him/her at all times during the weekend and is expected to respond to all calls as soon as possible (no longer than 20-minute return time). All calls received will be logged in with date/time and information from the call.

4. Ensure staff ratios are maintained at all times by finding PRN contract or current employees to work vacancies.

5. Answer on-call phone from 3pm Friday until 8am Monday.

6. Assist callers with resolving concerns. I.e. if staff call with medical concerns the Weekend On-Call Supervisor would direct staff to call the On-Call RN for guidance.

7. As appropriate refer callers to action or alternate personnel during business hours.

8. Work weekend shift(s) not to exceed 16 consecutive hours. After 16 hours the Weekend On-Call Supervisor must be off shift duty for at least 8 hours before working another shift should it be necessary.

9. Complete a weekend report to be submitted no later than 10 am each Monday.

10. Immediately contact the On-call QDDP for all event management issues that require further notification to KCRO.

11. Meet and maintain requirements of PSA position and work as PSA when assigned. (Will also sign PSA Job Description).

12. Other duties as assigned.

IV. HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Observe and report health and safety concerns.

2. Ensure staff ratios are always maintained.

3. Be familiar with TNC emergency procedures. Participate in training and drills.

V PERSONNEL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for receiving phone notification of call-in for shift duty and arranging for fill-in staff to maintain designated staffing ratio for each location.

2. When the Weekend On-Call Supervisor receives a call-in he/she is responsible to begin contacting alternate staff to cover the shift utilizing standard considerations regarding the order of contacting staff.

3. If the Weekend On-Call Supervisor is unable to secure an alternate staff to fill the open shift the Weekend On-Call Supervisor will report to the specified location to fill the open shift.

4. In some situations the Weekend On-Call Supervisor may need to cover for short periods to allow other staff to get to the home.

5. Responsible for notifying the QDDP On-Call if Weekend PRN On-Call must fill a shift so that the QDDP On-Call can assist with taking calls during that time.

6. Provide accurate contact information to direct supervisor and TNC Community central office. Immediately notify both of any change in contact information.

VI. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for notifying the QDDP On-Call when urgent requests for supplies such as gloves wipes paper towels thickener etc. are received.

2. May assist with purchasing supplies or provide shopping support for individuals when assigned. Is responsible to obtain original receipts for purchases and turn all receipts in to supervisor immediately on return or as designated.

3. May be required to put gas in vehicles and maintain and submit receipts for those purchases.

VII. FACILITY/TRANSPORTATION RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. When using maintains TNC vehicles in a neat organized clean safe sanitary manner.

2. Ensures safe and continuous operation of assigned vehicle by reporting repair needs accidents and traffic violations immediately.

VIII. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follows all TNC rules policies and procedures.

2. Any other related duties as assigned.

V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.

Must participate in all mandatory training and yearly re-certifications as required.

X. COMMUNICATION:

Average verbal communication.

Average written communication.

Average non-verbal communication.

XI ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to drive motorized vehicles.

Valid Missouri Class E drivers license or equivalent.

Must be open to a flexible schedule and some traveling.

Maintain Current CPR/First Aid and Level One Medication Aide Certifications.

Completion of Positive Behavior Supports and Abuse/Neglect Training.

Ability to clear background checks and drug screenings as required.

VII. PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS:

These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the Weekend On-Call Supervisors job. While performing the responsibilities of the Weekend On-Calls Supervisors job the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use his/her hands and fingers to handle or feel write type or file. The employee is occasionally required to stand walk reach with arms and hands climb or balance and to stoop kneel crouch or crawl. He/she lifts and moves items up to 75 lbs. and greater weights utilizing a lift device. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
